Ultrasound provides detailed visualization of the liver, spleen, kidneys, bladder, adrenal glands, and gastrointestinal tract. It is used when X-rays suggest an abnormality requiring further evaluation.
Echocardiography uses ultrasound to evaluate heart muscle thickness, valve function, and chamber size — essential for diagnosing and monitoring heart disease in both dogs and cats.
Ultrasound guidance allows us to precisely sample masses, lymph nodes, or organ tissue with a fine needle — providing diagnostic information without requiring surgery.
Ultrasound is used to confirm pregnancy, assess fetal viability, and estimate litter size.

We have seen Dr. Hudson for almost 3 years and he has provided phenomenal care for our french bulldog, Leo. Whether it’s an annual visit or a “sick” visit, Dr. Hudson always takes the time to answer our questions and clearly explains the best route of care for Leo. At our annual visit yesterday, where we had no current concerns, I expressed that I am always a little worried about the potential for IVDD.
HPAH has been a great change up from my usual animal clinic. I used to go to another one around here, but was always faced with extremely long appts, waiting for sometimes three hours for an answer of what's going on with my GSD's stomach issues. Since switching to HPAH, I have received impeccable care, great pricing despite being in Highland Park, and I always see the most adorable puppies in here.
Dr. Henry has always taken the absolute best care of my dogs for the last 10 years! All the other doctors we have seen including Dr. Wright, Dr. Hudson and others have also been so great! I’m so grateful for all the wonderful care and kindness my crew have always received here and will continue bringing them here for all their needs!
We went to HPAH today and were so pleased with every interaction we had with the front desk staff to Dr Hudson and his assistant. Axel had developed a bump overnight on his hip, HPAH kindly were able fit us in as new patients on the same day. They even gave us a goodie bag with treats and our prescription when we left. They exceeded our expectations with the care they showed Axel.
